Connor McDavid is so far beyond any other player in the NHL
It's not like the old Gretzky and Lemieux days, or Crosby and Ovechkin
There's McDavid, and then there's literally everyone else

- It's absolutely criminal that Mr. Robot never received the same kind of widespread popularity that a show like Breaking Bad got It had enormous ambitions, pulled everything off, and stuck an incredible landing that lesser shows would have failed to do. A true masterpiece
- Are the Dallas Stars the envy of the entire NHL right now? Currently contending for the Stanley Cup, but most for their best players are 25 years old or younger, so they're probably going to KEEP COMPETING for the Cup for years and years to come
- It's hard watching Jamie Benn these days. The guy who used to go "Beast Mode" on a regular basis is a total ghost on the majority of his shifts, and sometimes entire games He's making $9.5M AAV but is playing like he should be making $3.5M. That's an enormous problem for Dallas
- Ryan Merkley is still without a contract for 23-24, and it seems like his NHL hopes might already be over at 22 years old The downward spiral of his career was tough to watch: *2016: 1st overall pick in the OHL *2018: 21st overall NHL pick *2023: traded *2023: not re-signed
- Seems like a fun time to remind Dallas Stars fans that: - Miro Heiskanen is only 22 - Jason Robertson is only 22 - Jake Oettinger is only 23 - Denis Gurianov is only 24 - Roope Hintz is only 25 All those guys have many good years of hockey still ahead of them
- The Dallas Stars are an organization that is currently transitioning between an old core (Benn, Seguin, Klingberg and Radulov) and a new core (Heiskanen, Oettinger, Hintz, Robertson) Even though they lost this series, their future is still shining bright
- What happened in the end of the Dallas-St. Louis game just now is some of the worst officiating that I've ever seen in the NHL. That was flat-out embarrassing
- The Kraken would be a big, bold, ridiculous, fun name for a hockey team, so I really hope this happens. Too many NHL teams have boring names and personas. Just imagine how much entertainment value you could get out of a team called the Kraken. Let's get crazy!Report: Seattle Kraken believed to be name for NHL Seattle franchise russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2020/01/29/rep…
- This glove save by Oettinger needs to get some more attention Just watch how he reads the play. He *knows* that a deflection is coming from Scheifele, and he *knows* which change of direction it's going to take. He's ready for it Exceptional goalie IQ right thereSilky smooth by Mark Scheifele but equally nice grab by Jake Oettinger.
00:00 - Andrew Cristall, a forward with the Kelowna Rockets and a Washington Capitals draft pick, is now up to 31 points in 12 games this season That also bring him up to 311 total points in his WHL tenure thus far, in just 203 games Those are 1980s, pray-for-the-goalie kind of numbers
- There's been much discussion lately about the "Dallas model" of scouting. And yes, their scouting has been undeniably great lately But that's only half the story What other teams should be emulating, if anything, is the Dallas model of DEVELOPMENT Here's what that looks like:
- How is it possible for Joe Pavelski to literally spit blood in front of the refs and only have that high-sticking penalty be 2 minutes? Isn't that an automatic double-minor?
- The Dallas Stars have been one of the best teams in the NHL for the past 5 years, and Esa Lindell has been an unsung hero for them the entire time When it comes to killing penalties and closing out leads, the number of defenders as good as him could be counted on one handThere is a reason Jim Nill made signing Esa Lindell to a contract extension a top priority. Stars PK was 4-4 tonight, 7:41 shorthanded. Lindell chewed up 6:54 on the PK He also led all players with 7 blocked shots, including a late one in the crease that saved the game.
