    UPDATE: Ahed Tamimi is being held at Damon Prison in Israel and was beaten, according to her mother. Her mom received a call from a lawyer who was visiting another female Palestinian prisoner. That prisoner informed her lawyer of Ahed's status & to notify her family (continued)

    I'm deeply disturbed by the lack of outrage from Western journalists & the US government re: Israel's killing of Shireen Abu Akleh. It reinforces what we as Palestinians have long felt: that there is little regard for our humanity.

    Shireen Abu Akleh’s colleague & eyewitness who was standing right by her described how an Israeli sniper directly targeted her. They were both wearing press jackets & helmets. Shireen was shot near her ear, where the helmet didn’t cover. This was a shot of extreme precision.

    AHED TAMIMI UPDATE: Yesterday Israel's military court extended Ahed's detention another 6 days. The military prosecution requested time to issue an administrative detention order. This means they've failed to bring actual charges and will hold her without charge or trial.

    This Palestinian teenage boy who was just released from Israeli prison described how Israeli prison officials broke his arm and fingers. He didn't get treatment for over a week, until just now when the Red Cross saw him. His mom is crying beside him because she had no idea

    Ahed Tamimi revealed that her Israeli captors told her “we have your father in prison and if you speak, we’ll kill him” upon her release. I’m deeply disturbed by how visibly traumatized and worn down she appears coming out of Israeli prison, where we know she was beaten.
