    Year 2032. Evenepoel and Pogacar each won 6 Tours now. Van der Poel will be competing in 17 disciplines at the olympics, aiming at 17 medals. Van Aert won Paris-Roubaix for the 7th time. Valverde announced that he will continue for another year as he doesn’t feel his age yet.

    I gained a lot of doubters this year. People that doubted my ability to still win races but today i silenced my biggest doubter. Myself. I didn’t believe that i still had this in my legs but today i proved myself wrong.

    And just like that a career of 16 years has finished. All i have worked for since i was 10 is now just a memory. Paris-Chauny was my last race as a Pro. But like always, the end of one thing is the beginning of something new. Looking forward to discover new challenges.

    My chain dropped on the second categorised climb of the day. A fan jumped on the road, put my chain on in 5 seconds and pushed me up to speed. All this while saying i’m a machina. Thank you anonymous fan for the great help.

    As a cycling enthusiast i will have some great years ahead of me watching races on tv. As a cyclist i will have my worst years ahead of me having to race against all those young wattbombs.

    If you want to give bonus seconds on a climb at least put barriers on the final km and make sure no motorcycle is in the way.
