    I want to thank everyones kind words on my recent award. It would not be possible if Rich Walker HC at FIU (1987) didnt take a chance on a Cuban kid coaching HS. Also Rick Mello FIU AD (2004) bringing me back home to be their Head Coach. Its starts with getting that CHANCE.

    Last night I coached my first College game without being able to speak to my father after a game! I wanted to tell him how excited I was about the young Frosh we have-he probably would have mistaken their numbers like always- Miss u Dad! Hard Night for me

    Yesterday We laid to rest my 87 yr old father! The man who risked his life fleeing Cubas inhumane government Sept 8 1963- he had $10:00 to his name that Day-Died a very proud American! Thanks Dad for giving Pete and I a Chance to live in Freedom! May you rest in Peace Viejo🙏🏼

    these HM young Asst coaches that call and tamper with the Mid level players, alluring them to get in the transfer portal- Would have had a rude awakening back in the day- many of those conversations were taken care of in the summer AAU parking lots- Respect the game and process😳

    Young people the Portal is NOT Twitter. No one cares about " I have been contacted by" its not about "LIKES" it's about REAL life decisions that effect you the rest of your life. NIL $ does NOT last forever, you are a " rental car" Value EDUCATION and relationships they last.

    Just watched Coach Huggs run practice the last two days-met him 35 yrs ago, and I can say he is teaching and demanding of his players the same now, as he was then. Same person, same friend- nothing will changed him, regardless of Hall of Fame award. I am fortunate to have met him

    Just spent Six amazing weeks in El Salvador. I want to thank Yamil Bukele, his staff, players and the loyal people/fans of this proud, safe nation, for allowing me, my staff and family to be part of the Central-American and Caribbean games.I can't wait to go back! God is Great🙏🏻
