Being recognised with a Royal Award from His Majesty The King is an incredible honour. I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude, humility, and pride, but I also reflect on the fact that this recognition comes after the tragic loss of my lovely Dad. I am deeply thankful for

Dear Dad, 19 years today you were taken from us, but your memory will live on in the game you loved and in anyone who shared just a second of your time. You always have, and always will be my hero 💔

Sadly , for some time, I have know that former England centre half Dave Watson had been diagnosed with dementia. I have now been asked by Dave’s wife Penny to release this statement on their behalf ....💔 #dementiainfootball @JeffAstleFdn @alanshearer @chris_sutton73

Thinking of my lovely Dad on what would have been his 78th birthday. There’s not a single second I don’t think about him and I will miss him always 💔 #dementiainfootball #AstleIsTheKing #WBA #NottsCounty

19th January 2002 💔 As always, thinking of my lovely Dad 💔 People say you don't know what you've got until it's gone... Truth is, you knew what you had, you just thought you’d never lose it 💔 Your legacy will live on, as you do in my heart every single day. Miss you Dad x

On this day, May 18th , Dad scored the winning goal in the 1968 FA Cup Final at Wembley. Dad was always very proud to represent his country but this was his proudest moment. Winning the cup he dreamt about as a boy & achieving the record of scoring a goal in every round 💙

Thinking of my lovely Dad on what would have been his 81st birthday. Taken from us far too soon but your legacy will always live on in the game you loved and in anyone who shared just a moment of your time. You always have, and always will be my hero. Love you Dad
