My hot take on the Central Belt today is that it should not cost £31.40 to take the train between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

You can drive 5 plus hours and still be in the Highland Council local authority area.
the european mind cannot comprehend driving four hours and still being in the same state

£50k to cover the difference between the asking price and the actual price of the house because someone from south wants it as a holiday home inflating the market even further out of reach of the young people already living in the area. Am I doing rural development right?

My daughter’s x5 great grandfather was cleared to this settlement, before being cleared for a second time to the coast. Here she stands on a cornerstone of one home. Estate now owned by an absentee billionaire green laird who suggested people cleared had an ‘impoverished life’.

Probably one of the few to have been given advance notice of the Green/SNP deal. Can't say much but I'm pretty happy to see my policy proposal make it in. Scotland's first wolf reintroduction trial to be undertaken in Kelvingrove in 2023 followed by the Meadows in 2024 #rewilding

Just seen a holiday let manager complaining the high price of cleaners on Skye means that their clients, described as local owners, are having to travel hundreds of miles to clean the houses themselves.

In his essay ‘Old Nationalism and New Nationalism’ Tom Nairn described Scotland as being two nations and not one. Using this map of Greggs locations I will discuss an Inverness branch opening as the a fundamental trigger point in reclaiming Gàidhealtachd nationhood… 1/15
    Replying to @undertheraedar
the Greggs frontier has pushed on, already in Elgin and next stop Inverness

Can’t believe I’m doing this but here we go… Using 2023 figures, if all new houses in the Highlands and Islands burnt wood for domestic heat rather than used a heat pump, CO2e emissions from wood burning heating would be 88% lower than the heat pump system.

This house needs a new roof and a young family.

Glaswegians are to Scotland as the English are to the UK. I will be taking no more questions on the matter.

Glaswegians love to pretend they would be the only people in the UK inconvenience by a nuclear strike from Russia.

What happens when you stick a deer fence around some native woodland remnants in the Flow Country and leave it for 37 years.

The Highlands are not a blank canvass. The Highlands epitomise many aspects of Scottish culture, history, landscape, and environment. We are in this mess because people from outwith the region have seen it as a blank canvass for centuries when it has in fact, 100%, not been.
Scotland’s vast, denuded Highlands represent probably the greatest blank canvass in Europe - with the potential for nature recovery on a truly grand scale. bbc.com/news/uk-scotla… @ScotlandTBP
