Crissy Field, Jan 1964 I'm sure you know that before it was big grassy field and reclaimed marsh, Crissy Field was an airstrip in the Presidio. and yes, that's the decrepit original Palace of Fine Arts in the background. #sfhistory

Sanchez & 19th Street, 1914 & 1917 Before & after construction of the pedestrian staircase between Cumberland & 19th Streets. #sfhistory Until recently, this slope was thought to be impassable by vehicles. #SanFrancisco

Recently Found 1906 Negatives I know, 1906 ruins, yawn. These never seen original 117 year-old negatives were found last week in a box at a local flea market. So glad the person found them & brought them to me so we can all see them. So much out there, keep looking! #sfhistory

Sutro Baths, circa 1958 A foggy day with the Sky-Tram & a pretty low tide. Still, there are people out on the point, no doubt waiting to get back in that giant Art Deco toaster. Almost 60 years since the place burned in 1966, & the ruins continue to be a gateway to #sfhistory

Sutro Baths, 1966 People think the June fire destroyed the Sutro Baths, but demolition was already in progress and the place was mostly empty. #sfhistory (came across this clip in my files recently)

Stonestown, December 1965 Christmas Shopping & Emporium carnival roof rides in full swing, parking lot full of American steel. When I worked at Courting's in 1990-91 post-remodel, that brick wall of the Big E was still there, hidden in the employee/delivery entrance. #sfhistory

View from 20th & Noe, 1901 The first time I saw this I was captivated, it appears in the book, Hills of San Francisco with a (1959) "now" picture. I went right out and took my own 1986 version. So many buildings in this still exist, hopefully you are captivated too. #sfhistory
