    GPs are being asked to open up online consultation software from 8am-630pm Mon-Fri from 1/10/25. No flexibility from @NHSEngland @DHSCgovuk @wesstreeting around suspending it if completely overwhelmed or staff sickness limits capacity. Patient safety will be compromised by this..

    I’ve just heard the argument that we need #Brexit because the country is ‘overrun with people & you can’t get a GP appt.’ NO NO NO. I’m a GP & the reason you can’t get an appt is because our NHS has been deliberately underfunded, cut back, privatised further & neglected by govt

    This is a picture @BorisJohnson doesn’t want you to see. It shows Jack lying on the floor of Leeds Infirmary for 4 hours last week. He has suspected pneumonia. There were no beds and the A&E staff couldn’t cope. You have a big decision this week. Please vote to stop this chaos

    Just spoken to a patient with a very serious cancer. They had major procedure cancelled yesterday due to lack of beds. We are near bottom of list of EU countries & bed nos. I did not become a dr to stand by & see patient harm occur. I have to speak out. What does @sajidjavid say?

    My surgery staff are at their wits end. Due to the blood bottle shortage having to cancel ‘non urgent’ tests. When our staff call patients they are getting abuse & anger directed at them. This is NOT our fault. Where is @BorisJohnson and @sajidjavid on this. Please speak out

    This afternoon we’ve had 3 patients on the phone saying they’ve had an email from ‘NHS England’ asking them to book a COVID jab by clicking a link. The link asks for details and credit/debit card info. We NEVER ask for such info. Please RT and advise elderly / vulnerable

    Doctors are getting messages from NHS management to ‘limit the blood tests you do’ due to a blood bottle shortage. We never do blood test unnecessarily. I believe there are no shortages in Europe so looking into reasons for this worrying development

    This is the reason why patients are dying in hptl corridors, GP waiting times increasing, NHS staff morale at rock bottom & operations delayed. It’s an overt political decision since 2010 that we have lowest annual increases to NHS & we see patient misery day to day due to this

    Shocking to hear from a final year medical student @TheBMA #ARM2023 that her student loan is now £104,000 & the interest accrual will be higher than the repayments when she graduates-so loan goes up. Total paid back over 30yrs will be £250,000 -shame on politicians for doing this

    Earlier I spoke to BBC News over the shocking news that 4.7 million people are on waiting lists. Nearly 400,00 waiting over a year. In pain. Worried. Anxious. Not working. We are - 10,000 drs short - 40,000 nurses short - 3,000 beds short We have seen huge cuts in last 10 yrs
