There is no place in our culture for the pathetic scrawled messages placed on the Cregagh bonfire this evening. We are a proud community, proud of our culture and traditions. These images do nothing to further our cause. This does not represent the good people of the Cregagh.

If they're booing other nationalists in the echo chamber, I can only imagine what might happen if a bona fide Unionist did take up the calls to 'join the conversation' and explain why we're not interested in the UI snake oil. Thanks, but no thanks.

Naomi Long asked what the DUP delivered with 10 MPs - £400m for infrastructure, £300m for health (£200m transformation, £50m mental health, £50m immediate pressures) £150m ultra-fast broadband, £50m education, £100m deprivation. £1bn more for NI than any other party.

I consider @SeamasBelfast a friend. I also oppose him on most big issues. We work together on constituency issues, but pull no punches in debate. If you disagree with him, argue, but the kind of bullying & trolling I've just scrolled through is entirely out of order. For shame.

The Belfast Boy 😍⚽️ First class new mural by the peerless Dee Craig celebrating #GeorgeBest, in the place he called home, the #Cregagh! #EastBelfast So glad to see the plans for the mural in place before the pandemic have finally come to this superb result. 👏🏻 @EastBelfastDUP

It's noticeable that for some Alliance reps, and one more than most, that snide, contrived digs at Unionists take greater prominence than any particular issue at hand.
It is noticeable that for some unionists the albeit worthy issue of Stadia funding takes greater prominence than our health crisis

After spending this afternoon discussing it on @bbcradioulster Inside Politics Q&A, came home to find the new @OfficialBlues shirt had arrived. Love it. Roll on footballs return. ⚽

The BBC spent today spinning the decision to cease live coverage of the Twelfth as leading to "enhanced" coverage...in reality they will offer the same 1 hr highlights they always did anyway...meaning significantly less coverage, context, history, community interest that came 1/2

I would NOT wish to issue an invitation for President Trump to appear on this programme, says @afneil

Nancy Pelosi, Brendan Boyle et al will be along any minute with deep dismay at the violation of non-specific terms of the 'Good Friday Accords' & making veiled threats on trade with the EU if they don't remove the Brussels' vaccine border on the island of Ireland. I'll wait...

As a kid I loved collecting for our bonfire. Seeing old mates, making new ones. Using trolleys & ropes to collect wood all around the town for weeks prior. Camping out guarding it. Seeing the community come out & enjoy something you put huge time & effort into. Thats the culture.

Remember kids: SF in govt, Gerry Kelly on the policing board: no problem ✅ Talking to loyalist groups: very very bad ❌ The double standards of how Unionists are expected to treat Provos relative to how others treat, & expect us to treat, loyalists with a past are astonishing
Proscribed terrorist organisations are not a legitimate part of our community. They aren't stakeholders to be consulted. They are a malignant force destroying our community. Our job as Ministers is to eradicate paramilitarism, not give them a platform or legitimacy.
