One of the best young arms in baseball showing what a power CH looks like. 96-102 FB, 83-86 CB, 90-93 CH. Elite analytical peripherals on all pitch types. 2,700 RPM on FB. Still very raw, but the ingredients are there to be a true ace.
80.5 mph CB with a 2900 spin rate, resulting in this late/sharp bite. Also features a 92-95 FB and a quality CH. Oh yeah, and he finished the season in AA... as a 19 year old.
Using an offset hurdle to mimic the slope of the mound. Goal of drill is to ride out the slope of the hurdle while maintaining contact with backside. By doing this, this pitcher will become more glute dominant and maximize lower half usage.
One drill to show our pitchers when/how to fire the upper half as compared to lower half. By isolating the upper and lower, they can feel how the body should unwind at, and after, foot strike to maximize the body’s stored energy.
This kid did not touch 95 until his last few outings in college and averaged just above 91. Post 2018 draft, he peaked at 98 and averaged 94.4. This one registered at 96.9. Just your typical 4th round pick who had 12.1 K/9. Lastly, to be nice... his name is Frank German.
We met in preschool at our church...boyfriend/girlfriend in 4th grade (she broke up with me and I cried)...best friends thru HS... engaged at 21... married at 22. I am so blessed that she said ‘I do’ 19 years ago today. She makes this life worthwhile.
Showcasing another young talent we have. It’s not quite fair when you can paint down and away at 99.4 and couple it with a CB that can register north of 3100 RPM. A big shout out to our Pro, Amateur, and International Scouting Deparments that provide us with top notch talent.
Big kudos to our Amateur Scouting Department for finding this special arm out of a small school in SC. 97.6 FB with big finish thru the zone. Also flashes two plus pitches in CB and CH. Certainly a pitcher to watch as he progresses thru our system.
88.2 mph CH with some serious action. Averaged 94.6 on his FB throughout the 2018 season. Not bad for a kid who was a position player in college and has only been a full-time pitcher for just over 2 years.
While I am proud of the progress on the field by our @GTBaseball team…I am even more proud of their character and selfless hearts as they helped John fulfill his dream with @Dream_On_3! Baseball will last but a short while…THESE memories will last a lifetime!
