just saw the news about @MatPatGT retiring. trying to hold back tears at disneyland.
I’ve made no secret of my admiration and appreciation for matpat over the years. he is THE GREATEST INSPIRATION for my content, it’s style, narration, etc. because I watched every single video of his growing up. matpat, stampy, dantdm, tobuscus, and peanut butter gamer are all the makings of my childhood. if it wasn’t for them, I would not be who I am today. I would not be here to entertain you.
Just like him, I even wanted to be an actor before I became a YouTuber. Struggled in the industry, landed a few jobs, but ultimately didn’t make it. But he showed me that there’s another way to entertain, and for that I’m eternally grateful.
Also, I only ever bought one piece of YouTuber merchandise in my whole life. The game theory shirt below. Not sure where it went, but I remember wearing it all the time in middle school.
