I was at the cenotaph as part of the ceremony. They were chanting and singing during the silence. While the prayer was being read we could hear ‘oh Tommy Tommy’.
The Far Right were NOT there to ‘honour the fallen’
BREAKING: Fights have broken out in London between police and a far right crowd trying to reach the Cenotaph on Armistice Day.
They were reportedly bearing England flags and shouting: "England till I die"
This is awful. Rest In Peace Yee-King Ho ‘Fion’
‘Intelligent, dedicated' woman, 27, takes her own life after struggling to afford £900-a-month rent and having to choose which meal to eat - MyLondon
they said ‘white working class people’ did not have ‘white privilege’ when they clearly do cuz they can riot & chuck bricks at places of worship & set fire to things & smash stuff up & attack people of colour in the streets but it’s all cuz of their ‘legitimate concerns’
🙄
I've resigned as @EquityREC Chair over this. @Equity and La*rence F*x can issue as many joint statements and apologies as they like. It's nothing to do with me and I apologise for nothing #NotInMyName
#AllLivesMatter until they’re non-white people on flimsy boats escaping war and deprivation. Then you’ll fantasise about the navy shooting them in the sea
"Are you comfortable with the idea of an elderly lady, maybe in her 70s and 80s, going to prison for years for holding up a sign"
@AlexDaviesJones: "No one is above the law here"
Am I the only bothered by this from Jeremy Hunt on why immigration needs restricting -
‘My children are half Chinese and I do not want them to grow up in a country where people look at immigrants and say it’s difficult for me to access NHS services because of people like you’
And I wonder how many of these racists banging about Juliet being White even know that in the original production she’d have been played by an adolescent boy
I lived in constant fear of violence in the 80s. Most minorities did. I can vividly remember crossing a road in my hometown when I had dyed hair and someone trying to drive a car into me + there were white working class grooming gangs, open police brutality, abusive teachers etc
