When I was an Ambassador, I had bodyguards who provided me protection. I loved them like brothers. I would never, but never, have put them in a position of taking unnecessary risks to their health and safety to stroke my own ego. What Trump did today is disgusting.

Guess what? The American people do not want the United States to act as a predator toward Canada. The American people do not want to make it easier for Russia to kill Ukrainians. The American people do not want to insult NATO allies who have fought and bled with us.

First question at the WH briefing should be: “Sarah, considering how you may have felt during the comedy routine at the WHCA dinner last night, can you understand how offensive the President’s words about Muslims, Mexicans, women, paralympians, Chuck Todd are? Will he stop?”

    1. IMPORTANT: Among the many outrages in Helsinki, Trump appears to have bought (or been suckered) into providing fuel to Putin's animus for former US Ambassador to Russia Mike @McFaul. The Administration needs to kill this outrageous proposal before it gets any legs.

    1. I don't think we are fully grappling with the possibility that we could be on the on the cusp of a completely new era, a fundamental reshaping of the international order. And I don't mean over the course of the Trump Administration. I mean by next week.

David Remnick asked Nancy Pelosi if impeachment could backfire. “It doesn’t matter,” she said. “He has given us no choice. Politics has nothing to do with impeachment, in my view.” newyorker.com/news/the-polit…

Yes, Obama congratulated Putin in 2012. That was before Russia invaded Ukraine, before Russia deployed to Syria to back Assad's genocide, before Russia interfered in US elections, before Russia launched a CW attack in the UK. Pay attention: Trump's own people know he blew this.

During the Obama Adm, I (a Jewish American) was Amb to Israel. We had an Indian-Amercian Amb to India, a Chinese-American Amb to China, a Korean-American Amb to S Korea, and more. No one questioned our loyalty to the US. I though we were past contemptible dual loyalty charges.

I'm calling it: the G-7 will not take place at Doral. This one is so over-the-top stupid and corrupt that the combined weight of pressures from Democrats, Republicans, lawyers, the public, and G-7 countries will force them to move it. But what a complete and utter farce.

    1. @IlhanMN's outrageous comments equating politicians' support for Israel with being bought off by American Jewish money are a vile anti-Semitic trope. They need to be condemned by all in our party.

    8. This issue could not be more serious. Putin's political opponents often wind up dead. The idea of a former US officials being questioned, arrested, or, God forbid, harmed by Russia needs to be rejected forcefully by the Administration. Today. END

Next Congress, we will pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and President @JoeBiden will sign it.
In December John Lewis presided over House vote to restore Voting Rights Act. Bill has been sitting on McConnell's desk for 225 days. Best way to honor Lewis is for Congress to revive law he devoted his life to & call it John Lewis Voting Rights Act

Secretary Pompeo needs to shut this down ASAP.
I am not an "associate" of Bill Browder. I am the former US ambassador to Russia. Putin is seeking to arrest a former Ambassador. Please understand how outrageous this act is, discussed no less between our two presidents

    13. We have done no planning for this course of action. No one thinks it is a good idea. But one man, whose knowledge and values are wanting, whose motivation is suspect, and whose supporters follow him blindly, could take us there. END
