- In almost 25 years of seeing chronic pain patients, I’ve never had a patient tell me opiates made their pain worse. Hyperalgesia is a political talking point of the bupe evangelists and manufacturers but it’s not usually clinically significant, IMHO.Eventually #opioids make pain worse (hyperalgesia). - I saw a difficult new CPP, angry, defensive, irritable. When I asked details about his pain, he began to cry. We came up with a diagnosis & treatment. Next visit, completely different person- open & funny. He’d been afraid of not being taken seriously. CP destroys lives/ people!
