A lot of people don’t seem to understand that “international law” is mostly just vibes. People seem to think the UN is the international government and it makes laws that bind countries, and the ICC and the ICJ are global supreme courts. This is obviously false.🧵

The pressure wasn’t coming from the Trump administration. The pressure was from everyone online making fun of the show, and the fact that it is a hand-wringing polemic about imaginary violent right-wing extremism in a year when actual extremist violence is coming from the left.

It sucks that this guy was on Season 2 of Dexter in 2007 and then became an icon nearly 20 years later when a generation that was too young to see this the first time caught onto it from streaming and social media. If he had broken out then, he could have had a different career.
