A reminder: Outdoor gatherings of more than 10 people are now banned under the governor’s order. The mayor is not granting exceptions at this time. Be safe this 4th of July and help slow the spread of #COVIDー19.

Just heard great news from @mcuban: He will add $1 million to his initial $100k contribution to the Dallas Education Foundation! Thank you, Mark, for this extremely generous gift for @dallasschools students! It will be a major boon to our city’s recovery from Sunday’s tornado.

Last week, I made a friendly wager on the @SMU vs. @uofmemphis game with @MayorMemphis. Since Memphis pulled off the narrow victory, Mayor Strickland will take over this Twitter account for half the day today. Mayor, take it away…

I am excited that my first official event as Mayor is a celebration of #ImmigrantHeritageMonth. The U.S. is a nation of immigrants, and I’m proud that Dallas is and will always be a welcoming city.

I am saddened to learn about the death of a Dallas icon, T. Boone Pickens. While he might have been an Oklahoma boy, he’ll always be remembered as a Texas legend. I’m incredibly grateful for his many contributions to Dallas. My thoughts and prayers are with his family & friends.
