Tragic night for us. This, a small sign of respect and admiration for a fallen brother and his family. Thank you to all Fire/EMS and to Baylor Medical Center for your tireless efforts. Rest easy, hero. We’ll take it from here.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce that this morning at approximately 0125 a @DallasPD officer, working an accident scene, was struck and killed by a DWI driver. Our department is once again mourning, but we are heartened by the strength of his family. Godspeed my brother.
At lunch, this young man approaches.“Hello sir my name is Jalen, and I just wanted to shake your hand, let you know I want to be a police officer. Me-(BEAMING)“That’s awesome Jalen, how old are you?” Jalen- “21” Me- “I’m waiting for you Jalen, let’s go! @DallasPD #PUMPED
Just got off the phone with this officer. He told me, the little girl was him at one time. I don’t really have the words to describe this, and I’m kinda choked up as I even type.Been doin this job for a long time, these acts get me every time. I’ll let y’all read. We’re all proud.
Receiving the flag is both heartbreaking and honorable. To all our surviving spouses, moms, dads, sons, daughters and extended families: Thank you for lending us your heroes. They sacrificed, not only for their communities, but for our nation. We are forever grateful. @DallasPD
You can train officers on tactics and scenarios all day long, but I cannot train bravery or courage. THIS, this right here…is bravery and courage. We need officers to be both guardian and warrior. Officer Cronin epitomized both yesterday. He made @DallasPD@CityOfDallas proud.
So.... talking to this future Texan (aka mom) at breakfast about moving her out this summer. This is how this talk went.
Mom- “Papi, tienen mi banco y un Target?”
Me- (Smiling and shaking my head). “Um....yes mom. They have your bank and a Target.” 🤦🏻♂️😂 Classic and adorable!
It was an absolute honor Mr President, thank you for the great conversation and for your continued support of @DallasPD and Law Enforcement throughout our country!
It is with a heavy heart that I share that, after a brave fight, @DallasPD Officer Jacob Arellano, died this morning as a result of his injuries sustained in the head on collision. Please keep Jacob, his son, his girlfriend, and his family in your prayers. Rest easy brother…
