- If a player averaged 34 homers & 103 RBIs for a decade while winning 10 consecutive Gold Gloves at a premium position and earning a rep as perhaps the best ever at his position, and he had no link to steroids, would you assume that player was a Hall of Famer? That's Andruw Jones.
- Joc Pederson, as he's high-fiving everyone in the dugout, shouted a few times, "I'm a bad motherfucker."
- Dansby Swanson on what Freddie Freeman meant to the #Braves: “Easiest thing to say is, number 5 should never be worn again.”
- Chipper showed up today, security guard stopped him and said he didn't have a credential. He smiled, said, "No, but I'm on one of the banners." Security guard asked his name. He said, "I'm Chipper Jones." And the guy apologized profusely. Chipper laughed, told him no problem.
- Marcell Ozuna: "The experience last year was the best of my life... I'm proud to be an Atlanta Brave."
- #Braves closer Will Smith had a 0.00 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and .139 opponents' average in 11 postseason appearances, and was 2-0 with 6 saves in 6 opportunities. No other pitcher on any team had more than 1 save this postseason.
- Drone flew overhead during #Braves batting practice, briefly hovering low enough that it could be heard, drawing attention. Tyler Flowers: "Is that one of ours?" Reporter: "No, it's the Astros."
- Charlie Morton retired all three batters that he faced after fracturing his fibula, and struck out two of them. Remarkable.
- #Braves' A.J. Minter: “The Mets didn’t blow it, we took it from them...We just played out of our minds.”
- Chills just now at Truist Park, where legendary #Braves manager Bobby Cox was shown on the videoboard and waved to the crowd as he received a long standing ovation. The Hall of Famer has only attended a couple of games since suffering a massive stroke in April 2019.
- When we arrived in the pressbox, this was on the TVs that normally show the Braves games. Oh, and that building beyond right field….
- ESPN had this today, showing how far Mets dropped in one month — from 3 1/2 games behind the #Braves to 18 1/2 behind.
