Today, @RESCUEorg releases its 2026 Emergency Watchlist, identifying the 20 countries most at risk of worsening humanitarian crises. The top countries on this year’s list offer stark examples of the devastating impact of what the IRC calls a “New World Disorder.”

I know Kim Darroch, I’ve worked with Kim Darroch...and stupid and pompous are the last things to call him. He’s served governments of all parties without fear or favour. He is a true public servant.

First good news for some time. Congratulations @keirstarmer who can bring back intelligence, principle, judgment - all essential for #Labour to be of service to the country. The Corbyn years brought terrible shame and monstrous defeat. The clearer the new start the better.

Vladimir Putin’s contempt for, or fear of, a People’s Vote will not shock anybody. The overwhelming evidence of malign and multiple Russian interventions in western democratic processes, including the Brexit referendum, have been designed to destabilize democratic rule.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Keir Starmer and his successful team.  The sense of service, purpose and teamwork is so refreshing.   Glad, confident morning.

This is SO disingenuous from @michaelgove He is intelligent enough to be ashamed. The EU have negotiated a deal framed by BRITISH red lines (re CU, SM, NI). He cannot stamp his feet and shout for them to move - unless he moves. Ball in his court.
"They're simply saying no, we don't want to talk, well I think that's wrong and sad." Cabinet minister Michael Gove says he is "deeply saddened that the EU now seem to be refusing to negotiate with the UK."

Dangerous, irresponsible, hateful, jaw-dropping @realDonaldTrump on twitter this morning. Offensive to everything we should stand for. Time for an apology.

Hard truth: Theresa May's choices damaged Britain. Division deepened, international isolation increased, door opened, further, to extremism. Compromise? You must be joking.

Jeremy Corbyn says the real divide is many/few not remain/leave. But remain v leave has CRITICAL impact on many/few divide. Leave is a sluice gate to a more unequal and poorer Britain. There is no #brexit for the many.

There’s nothing “left wing” about any kind of Brexit. It invites an unyielding job-cutting, standard-shredding, equality-reducing, regulation-shaving race to the bottom. No thanks.

It’s the casual, brazen vandalism - no plan for an alternative, let’s just smash things up - that gets me. It’s the opposite of “conservative”. It just pulls the country apart for nothing except the thrills (and some profits).

Betrayal is the cry of the Left against Labour in govt. Now we have seen the truth: Betrayal is when an in-credible, sectarian Labour opposition fails to provide a viable alternative to a distrusted Tory party. They get rumbled. The Tories win. The country loses.
Every door I knocked on, and my team and I spoke to 11,000 people, mentioned Corbyn. Not Brexit but Corbyn. I’ve been saying this for years. The outcome is that we’ve let the country down and we must change course and fast.

This letter from ALL of Germany’s political leaders is such a brilliant example of what Europe is all about (and how much has changed in 2/3 generations). And what a mature contrast to half baked, narrow minded, crabbed, self-pitying soundbites in the Brexit debate.
