The Decathlon 1500m a reminder of one of my favourite sporting photos of all time. What a champion Daley was.

The idea that the Prime Minister shouldnโ€™t be able to go on holiday is one of the more ludicrous concepts of the permanently offended.

A massive swing to the Tories in Enfield tonight, with big Conservative gains across the borough. Delighted that I was one of those elected. Looking forward to getting stuck in.

Looking at the Hartlepool poll and the collapse of the Red Wall, surely Labour backing a second referendum was one of the biggest strategic mistakes ever made by a modern political party?

Do the anti BBC people on the right and left really look at the grim, polarised, collection of extremes that is US cable TV and think "I want something like that". The BBC isn't perfect, needs reform, but it's a great British institution and should be treasured.

Amazing how many people on here *instinctively* think Britain is to blame when France threatens to cut off Jersey's electricity supply. Says it all really.

This is TERRIBLE news. No question that BBC4 is the best channel available in the UK today.
NEW: BBC executives have reportedly conceded that BBC Four will go off-air by the end of the year. The decision is reportedly driven by cost cutting due to the Coronavirus crisis. The majority of BBC Four's budget would be reassigned to BBC Three.

Managing to build a massive new Nightingale hospital so quickly is one hell of an impressive effort. Amazing that the people who were so dewy eyed about the Chinese government building new hospitals havenโ€™t mentioned it.

In the past three years, weโ€™ve had our best World Cup performance for 28 years, followed by our best tournament performance for 55 years. It hurts like hell but this team is capable of anything, has the entire nation behind them and has a big point to prove in Qatar.

For years, people said that Conservatives might never win a decent majority again. Then Boris, who turned a Labour city blue and played a decisive role in the Brexit referendum, won the biggest Tory majority for decades. He was an essential part in all of these electoral wins.

Labour MPs knew their candidate had endorsed anti-semitic social media posts, but still rushed to endorse her "because she's Labour". They then crow about "defeating the forces of division", which seemingly doesn't include anti-semitic social media posts. Some anti racism. Grim.

Attlee insisted on being a pall bearer at Churchillโ€™s funeral, despite him being 82 years old. This is him watching as Churchillโ€™s coffin left St Paulโ€™s for Tower Pier.
