    A fake letter is circulating in social media purportedly conveying decision of Higher Education Department to reopen colleges and universities from 10th Feb’2022. It is hereby clarified that no such decision has been taken by the state government.

    In view of the prevailing heat wave condition in Odisha, classroom teaching (UG & PG) in all HEIs - coming under HED - shall remain suspended from 27.04.2022 to 02.05.2022.

    After end of summer vacation, Universities and Degree Colleges (under Higher Education Department) shall resume ONLINE classes from 1st June’2021. Physical classroom teaching shall not commence now. Hostels will remain closed till further order.

    State Government has today sent a letter to MHRD requesting to reconsider the revised guidelines of UGC and not to make conduct of UG & PG final term exams mandatory. MHRD has been requested to allow the State Government to adhere to its decision of cancellation of these exams.

    Universities and Colleges (under Higher Education Dept) will open for physical classroom teaching (and for hostel accommodation) from 16.08.21 for PG First Year and UG Pre-Final Year students. Exams for PG/UG Final Year students will be held in online mode as planned earlier.

    In all Universities and Colleges of Odisha, coming under Higher Education Department, summer vacation for 2022 year will be allowed only for 16 days; from 1st June to 16th June.

    Classroom teaching and other academic activities in physical mode shall start in universities and colleges (under the administrative control of Higher Education Department) from Monday, the 7th February’2022. Hostels will be opened from 6th February.

    The State Government of Odisha, through its Advocate on Record, appeared in the Hon’ble Supreme Court today in the case matter relating to cancellation of final term UG/PG examinations.The case will be heard again on Tuesday.
