I don't care how fans express themselves in fan art. They can make whatever changes they want. What I take issue with is the hypocrisy. If you decide to darkening the characters that's totally okay but if you make them lighter it's pitch forks and bullying.
Oh I agree, I think that's the joke for this particular piece. That's a fair criticism tho. I take more issue with those who call this racist while defending the recent dandadan art that's gone viral. It's the same concept why is one okay but not the other? That's my whole issue
What I'm saying is, I don't have an issue with the art but the hypocrisy from those who view this art and attack one but not the other. Either they are both okay or they are both racist. Can't pick and choose.
This blew up beyond belief. I don't support the artist. I used this as comedic exaggeration to get my point across. That being: if it's ok for fan artists to race swap a character to black, then it should be ok to make them white. Calling out one but not the other is hypocritical
I agree. Fan art is a fan expression what they are feeling through art. My only issue with the one on the right is that it's largely traced As an artist myself I don't care for tracing, but it's not that deep.
I believe fans can make whatever changes they want in fan art. That said seeing fans get bullied viciously for making character lighter while fans that make characters darker get defended is a double standard I can't stand.
So to prepare for #AvengersEndgame I'm re-watching the whole MCU and I finished Phase 1 here's how I rank them
1. The Avengers
2. Captain America
3. Iron Man
4. Iron Man 2
5. Thor
6. The Incredible Hulk
