- The biggest news from today is that the ICC for the first time have confirmed that Zimbabwe will automatically qualify for the 2027 fifty over World Cup as hosts and therfore will not have to play in the qualifiers!
- Big call but has there been a better Zimbabwean cricketer than Sikandar Raza? No Zimbabwean has won more games for his country. Flower and Streak were great players but Raza impacts every game he plays with either bat or ball. Incredible servant to Zimbabwe.
- ZIMBABWE WIN. First time they have ever beaten Australia in Australia. Ryan Burl and Reggie Chakabva match winners. What a moment for cricket in Zimbabwe.
- Former captain Tatenda Taibu to open the Bill Flower Academy (named after the great coach and father of Andy and Grant) at Harare’s Alexandra Sports Club on Thursday. The academy will be free and will be open to both male and female players.
- 5 wickets against India, hit the winning runs against Australia and now defends 4 off 4 against Pakistan. What a start to his international career Brad Evans is having.
- Sikandar Raza has played 9 games in 3 countries over the last 2 weeks and has been man of the match in 5 of them. Incredible.
- Whatever happens these two teams have shown that they really want to play test cricket. No one at the ICC can look at this match and come to the conclusion that the likes of Ireland, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan should not be given more opportunities to play test matches.
- What a waste of 4 years with Rajput as coach.
- The pressure of being favourites got to Zimbabwe today. A tough lesson to learn on the big stage.
- Kevin Kasuza's dad passed away in 2016 and before he died he made Kasuza promise that would not quit cricket without getting the chance to play for Zimbabwe. Today on debut he reaches a fifty and has now fulfilled his fathers wish.
- BREAKING The UAE will tour Zimbabwe for four ODIs in April followed by Afghanistan who will play five ODIs.
- What makes this victory all the more remarkable is that Zimbabwe were missing Ervine, Williams, Blessing, Burl, Chatara, Ngarvara and Wellington.
- Malcolm Waller has officially retired from cricket to take up farming. A player who had his moments in a Zimbabwe shirt (99 not out against New Zealand being the highlight), but struggled for consistency. A very popular man on and off the field. Take care Maru!
