I’m the 98th Archbishop of York serving the diocese of York and the dioceses of the Northern Province of the Church of England.
- Today I’ll be confirmed as Archbishop of York. I ask for your prayers as I seek to discern God’s priorities for me, @DioceseOfYork, Northern Province & wider Anglican Communion. ‘I keep the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved’. Ps 16:8

- Waking up to the sad news that Archbishop Desmond Tutu has died. The whole Christian community around the world thanks God for his inspiring life of service and witness. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

00:00 - Today I take my seat as 98th Archbishop of York with all its honour & opportunity. A bishop’s chair has different meanings. It is meant to be uncomfortable.I see it as a place around a table where all are invited & a chair where I teach about one who had no throne but a cross.

- Praying tonight for those locked down communities across the north facing new restrictions: for those who are lonely, those who are ill, those who are frightened, those who are grieving, those who are dying. And all who care for them.
- Today’s announcement that the UK is increasing its nuclear capacity is very worrying. It is in breach of our commitments under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and only helps those who profit from them. The best way to build global security is to invest in international aid.
