    Thanks to a friendly neighbour who raised the alarm, our resident female swan was rescued yesterday by the heroic Harry and Dan. She had been missing for 48 hours and her mate was looking dejected, so we looked everywhere for her round our lake - no sign. Then out of the blue -

    When you give your heart to a dog, it’s inevitable it will, one day, be broken. Our dear old Susie went OTR at 3.10pm today She was 15 and a half. She was such a good girl, never any trouble, I genuinely don’t ever remember having to tell her off - she was simply the best of

    I lost one of my best friends today. Dora was simply the kindest, most undemanding (except for cuddles/food), easiest dog to live with. She was uncomplicated, sweet, happy to muck in with whatever, & while she had some weird eating habits, she never complained. She was

    In 1988 milk was 28p a pint. Today it’s £1.15 for 2L, which equates to approx 4pts. In 33 years, milk has gone up precisely THREE PENCE... Meanwhile the production costs of milk have gone up with inflation. Can we just think about that for a moment? #dairy #farming #agriculture

    Had to say goodbye to my k9 soulmate tonight, my pheasants finder, my mind reader, my wing-lady, my conscience pricker, & the best companion. I was her world & she mine. My heart is broken. Sleep well Sweep. Thank you for 11 years of unquestioning loyalty. Love you little one X

    Am I right in thinking the elections on May 6th are local elections? Only I’ve just watched a broadcast by @UKLabour & Keir Starmer claimed by voting Labour, we’ll be ‘protecting the NHS’ & ‘rewarding nurses’. I thought that was done at Parliamentary level, not local councils?..

    I’ve decided to stop watching the news. I’ll be a lot happier for it. The vile spite & hate filled headlines are really wearing me down. If I need any news it will be @itvnews & that will be it. I literally can no longer bear the @BBCNews negativity - it’s just depressing.

    Please say a little prayer for my precious Sweep tonight. She’s had a slow growing brain tumour for a while now & just this weekend, despite ongoing meds, her seizures have returned. It’s so distressing to see, & exhausting for her. She’s my canine soulmate - I’m very sad. 😥
