    The much-missed Maggie Jones and Anne Kirkbride were born on this day on 1934 and 1954 respectively. As screen mother and daughter, they appeared in a collective 4,191 episodes. Coronation Street has never been the same without them

    Jean Alexander passed away on this day in 2016. Such was her popularity that in 2005, 18 years after she left Coronation Street, she was voted by readers of TV Times as the "Greatest Soap Opera Star of All Time"

    We've just learned that Cheryl Murray aka Suzie Birchall passed away in September last year. Suzie was a real highlight of Corrie in the late 1970s and would definitely have gone on to become of the greats if she'd been in the show longer. RIP Cheryl
