Within each of us lies the ability to do anything we set our minds to. We just have to be brave enough to try. Proud. #ProjectEDucate 🚴🏻🇺🇸 idonate.ie/projecteducate

Gyms #level5 I'm really uneasy with the "keep gyms open for mental health" line. I'm a physio, borderline exercise addict & also someone who's been to the brink during a dark period in life. Trust me, I'm as big an advocate of exercise for positive mental health as anyone.(1/3)

The past few weeks has left me questioning the decency of society a bit. I think we've lost sight of the fundamental reasons of why things are the way they are. And the video of the drink being thrown at Varadkar is symptomatic of it all. Here's why: (1)

Clothes shops are good for some people's mental health, along with recording studios, bookshops. The list goes on. Using such an emotive argument to keep gyms open is somewhat insensitive & displays a lack of understanding of both disease transmission & mental health issues.(3/3)

I've had a Christmas where nothing could take away the darkness. It's cruel. If you're in a good place, be grateful for your health and mindful of your interactions. If you're struggling, it's okay to be vulnerable. Someone will listen. Pieta House:1800247247 Aware:1800804848

NPHET are not trying to make your life sh*t. They're trying to help. In all likelihood they're trying to look after your ma,your da or whoever it is you fight with on Christmas day. Just be sound to each other and not make all this any more difficult than it needs to be. End.

This day 10 ago I was playing in an All Ireland Final. Today I’m getting on a plane to cycle across Europe . A pacemaker, depression & an eating disorder later. I could never have predicted the last 10 years. But it’s taught me that there’s always a way to bounce back💪🏻🚴🏻

But here's the reality. When I was truly struggling, a gym being open or not wasn't going to be the thing to stop me pulling the plug on myself. Yes gyms are an absolutely amazing thing for people's mental health, people like myself who love going. But we're not everyone. (2/3)

This is the pits. Literally backing young lads into a corner and forcing them to choose. And long before these kids were “dropped”, they were made sign a code of conduct? Kids, contracts? Really? ⁦Offaly GAA⁩ is losing the run of itself here.

Been some journey. Blood, sweat, tears. Fear, isolation, hardship. But growth, healing & the experience of a lifetime. Glad I was brave enough to step so far from comfort. Proud, not of getting it done, but the resilience and determination throughout. Time to get home💚☘️

Spoke to an u20 player last week who was beyond distressed at the position he was in.Threatened with being dropped from county panel if he played his 3rd level game and fearful of losing financial aid if he didn't line out for the college. They're not pieces of meat, they're kids.

Exactly 4 months. On June 28th, I walked into Lois Bridges, an eating disorder treatment centre. I was broken. On October 28th, I finished cycling 5,350 kilometers across a continent. I’m recovering. Never give up on yourself. There’s always hope. idonate.ie/achilltoathens

The general "so you're telling me I can do X, but I can't do Y, what a joke" commentary helps absolutely no one. All it does is piss people off and take decisions out of context. Ultimately leading to people disregarding the public health guidelines.(5)
