Last June, the Supreme Court heard another landmark case on mixed-status spouses. In DOS v. Muñoz, the Court upheld the power of consular officers to separate a married couple without the ability to challenge the denial on procedural due process grounds. 13/16

The letter was based on information from the FBI that failed to identify the accusers or any evidence. In May 1949, Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson granted permission for Ellen to leave Ellis Island on bond. 7/16
