- I’ve seen dozens of people in academics scoff at how ridiculous the research “arms race” is as if the students are the ones responsible for this system. “Students shouldn’t have X # of pubs” may be technically true but we’re just playing the game by the rules we’ve been given.Over a decade, research abstracts/papers in residency applications have increased 2-3x!!
