There’s a very good possibility that there will be two former Cougars playing in the NCAA tournament this year. Vermont and Ryan Davis have advanced to America East semi-final and Jimmy Sotos and Bucknell look like they are headed to Patriot League final.

Today is an important and special day for Conant Basketball!! We would like to wish a Happy 70th Birthday to the Godfather of Conant Basketball, Tom McCormack. In addition, we would also like to wish a Happy 69th Birthday to Cougar legend Dan Travers!

Heading into Senior Night next Tuesday, Matt McColaugh hits the biggest shot of his Conant Career to give the Cougars a nice road win at Maine West.

The JYD Scotty Mac is a little camera shy as professor Raj tutors him for an upcoming Math test. Being a great TEAMMATE doesn’t end at graduation. Unfortunately Scott can’t bring Raj with him to Iowa next year. There’s always FaceTime though

Congrats to Ryan Davis on being named all conference and MSL West Player of the Year. First of many honors for Ryan!

So proud of the effort of our guys and mental toughness to pull that victory and tournament title out over Brother Rice. With Ryan Davis fouling out, we could have folded, but the guys stepped up. Who needs Ryan? Just Kidding, Davis finished game with 31 points and 15 Boards.

Very good 62-40 win at Hoffman Estates. Ryan Davis had 20 points and Raj Mittal finished with half his ACT score (18 points).

Ryan Davis was named IBCA 1st Team All State. Well Deserved. He was an absolute force this year averaging 25 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 60 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line. May never see a season like that again.

Well deserved recognition for two great young men. Ben Schols and Ryan Davis have the most wins in the history of Conant Basketball. They aren’t done yet!

Will really miss this group of seniors. Coming to practice everyday has been a bright spot to an otherwise difficult year for our family. A coach is usually supposed to be a shoulder to lean on, but roles were reversed this season. Both Coach Maley’s won’t ever forget that.

Raj Mittal Resume: Varsity Basketball, Math Team All-American, Orchestra, Model Citizen, and now Junior Class Home-Coming Court Winner

Brandon Blakely hits a game winning three at the buzzer to bail out the Cougars in their victory over Wheeling. A couple hours before the game, Brandon was practicing that exact same shot over and over again. Not a coincidence that it went in when it mattered.

Really cool to be watching two former Cougars (Ryan Davis and Jimmy Sotos) play against each other on ESPN3. Vermont vs. Bucknell

Conant Basketball would like to congratulate AD John Kane and Athletic Trainer Roger Carpenter on their respective retirements. Words cannot begin to express the impact these individuals have done after each serving over 30 years at CHS. Thank you, you will both be missed!
