    You know why NY’s ‘recovery’ isn’t happening? This photo today on the E Train at 6:45am at 42nd & 8th says it all. Why should working people & tourists be subjected to this? How’s it fair to those who need services? Imagine the cops’ frustration with no support to deal with it!

    Sgt. Harold Preston was a 41-year veteran of the @houstonpolice — a cop who led a life of significance. A hero shot and killed today, Harold was a selfless public servant who we will #NeverForget. My prayers are with his family, community, and fellow officers. @ArtAcevedo

    Every American, and in particular every American politician, needs to read Judge William Webster’s op-ed in today’s @NYTimes. I have had the privilege of serving with him for many years on the Homeland Security Advisory Council which he chairs.

    Cops don’t take the job to get a “thank you” from those they help — no matter where in the world they serve. But it is nice when it happens. This @Carabdechile officer certainly enjoyed the pooch’s hugs of gratitude after a compassionate rescue.

    Aaron Salter, Jr., did what came natural as a retired cop — engaged the violent shooter at a Buffalo, NY supermarket where he worked. He sacrificed his life, and likely saved countless people. 𝐀 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨. He and his family are in my prayers.

    Retired NYPD Detective Lou Alvarez fought for what was right until his last breath. He never wavered in his service to others — at Ground Zero and after he was diagnosed with 9/11 related cancer. Lou was the epitome of the NYPD’s motto, Fidelis Ad Mortem. We will #NeverForget.

    Kudos to this NY cop on his performance. His situation is a reminder to New Yorkers & their political leaders that NYC’s decline in the 70s & 80s began in the subways. The quality-of-life declines & warning signs are all there for it to happen once again. nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-c…

    The somber sound of the big pipes as @Chicago_Police salute their fallen officer who was killed in the line of duty — and we all mourn the loss of a hero. We pray for her family & her partner, who is currently fighting for his life after also being shot.
