- The apprehension of Harris was a coordinated effort between the CDOC Adult Parole Fugitive Apprehension Unit, CDOC Office of the Inspector General, and the Fort Collins Police Department. The CDOC would like to thank the many law enforcement agencies that assisted in this effort

- On March 28, 2019, at approximately 5:15 pm Colorado Correctional Center escapee Cody Harris was apprehended without incident in Fort Collins by the Fort Collins Police Department. Harris escaped from an offender work crew on March 27, 2019, in Adams County.
- Inmates & staff at Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility contributed to the 44th annual toy drive in Pueblo, crocheting 116 stockings & hats filled w/candy. An inmate hand drew cards that were placed on the stockings. Numerous staff and inmates donated candy to fill them #giving
- On September 28th, 2023 the Colorado Department of Corrections lost Community Parole Officer Christine Guerin Sandoval in the line of duty. Our hearts are deeply saddened by our loss and our thoughts go out to Christine’s family and friends during this difficult time.

- Inmates at Denver Women's Correctional Facility made over 100 cards for the facility's volunteers, who because of COVID, have been unable to hold programs inside the facility. We're grateful for our volunteers & look forward to the time when we can all be together in person again

- The Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility and Buena Vista Correctional Facility have developed & implemented beekeeping programs & the beehives are thriving! Inmates have learned how to care for the hives, do daily checks, feed the bees, and clean the hives. #Honey
