Most founders still use AI to help them do things they would’ve done anyway.
An under-appreciated use of AI: do things a human would never do because it’s prohibitively time-consuming. . .
Australia's COVID situation is out of control.
A mega-thread looking at where we are, how we got here, and what we need to do to get out of this shitshow.

Frustrating chat this morning with son’s teacher on first day back to school. Says he expects “COVID will rip through the school in the next few weeks, same as last year”. Then tells me “there’s not much we can do about it, but we do disinfect the desks every day.”
“The withdrawal of COVID mitigations. . . was carefully orchestrated to transpire as quickly as policy makers thought the public would be willing to shift, yet in steps small enough to make those who expressed concerns appear to be over-reacting to every individual step.”

These synchronised "anti-clean-air" tweets have to be among the most ludicrous of the entire pandemic. . . and there has been some stiff competition 🤡🤡
It's hard to fathom that we're in the 4th year of an airborne pandemic and still there are many people who do not know how COVID spreads, or why we should be trying to prevent infection - including those we trust to provide a safe environment for our kids.

We need a new term: “clean air theatre”.
Most people know about “hygiene theatre” - providing hand-sanitiser, wiping down surfaces, reminding folks to wash their hands, even though COVID is an airborne virus. It looks like it's doing something, but really it's having very
Every parent should watch this interview with Consultant Cardiologist Dr Rae Duncan summarising the latest research on #LongCOVID and potential long-term impacts on kids from repeat COVID infections.

Australian schools can apply for $25k funding for COVID mitigations such as improving ventilation and purchase of HEPA filters. Applications close 24 Feb.
We can’t keep pretending that covid is no big deal for kids. There are now mountains of evidence that it can cause long-term harm including long covid, and that the harm is cumulative with reinfection.

The #CleanAirRevolution is underway. More and more countries are getting on board.
Widespread use of HEPA filters in hotels in Hong Kong, kids routinely wearing masks in schools in Thailand, CO2 levels displayed in shopping centres in Japan.
France implements an 800ppm CO2 limit in classrooms. They recognise clean air is vital to reducing COVID transmission.
Meanwhile, in many Australian schools:
a) No idea what CO2 has to do with COVID
b) One CO2 monitor, in a drawer in the principal's office
c) Zero mitigations
