Most high school athletes must understand: 20 yrs from now, no one will remember if you scored 20pts, scored 3 touchdowns etc. Everyone will remember how you treated others, teachers, staff+ the kind of person you were to your teammates, coaches + community. Character first!

Too many kids have been taught that the goal of HS athletics is to achieve an athletic scholarship. When in reality the goal of HS sports is to learn how to be a better person, teammate, communicator & enjoy being a teenager.. something you'll never be able to get back.

    • BAD players don’t take anything seriously • AVERAGE players only take games seriously • GOOD players take practice & games seriously • GREAT players take take sleep, academics, warmups, weight room, film, conditioning, practice + games seriously #HowToBeGreat

Coaches lose sleep over other peoples children.

Former Players: You have no idea how much it means to us coaches when you come back to practice to say hello. Coaches will forever be connected to our players; for life. Go see your former coaches more often!

Blame who you want. But this is a horrible angle to take away the rim. Why would you guard this straight up? It’s always the smallest of details. #NBA | #NBATwitter | @WorldWideWob

Young Assistant Coaches: - Get off your phones during practice - Offer to stay after practice for xtra work - Show up early, set the example - Help set up / clean up games & practices - Before games ask HC if they need anything - You should NEVER be sitting down @ practice

Assitant Coaches: Working for the right head coach is so important. Find a HC that: • Aligns with your beliefs • Helps you grow as person + coach • Helps you get a better job • Finds little ways to make you extra $ • Wants your input + listens • Appreciates YOU!

Your 9 year old doesn’t need to play in a “elite camp” to gain exposure. He/she needs to do their homework, have fun with their friends, work on getting better at their sport but not forget to be a kid.

Freshman Parents: Your kid is in high school now. You don’t need to email your coach asking when practices are. Your kid knows how to buy/sell bitcoin, put together a computer, edit Instagram pictures, create music etc. They can easily send an email to their new coach.

It takes 1 player who • doesnt work hard • badmouths coaches in locker room • doesnt bring energy • pushes team rules • has bad body language • complains on the bench To completely ruin the entireteam culture + chemistry. Dont be that one player. Buy in and be Team First.

HS Parents: Prior to complaining to your child’s coach about playing ask yourself 4 questions: 1 Does my child attend ALL practices? 2 Does my child spend xtra hrs on their game? 3 Has my child performed when given the chance? 4 Does my child want it as bad as I do?
