The absolute beautiful thing about potentially not getting your DI or DII offer or call is that there are DIII programs out there that definitely more than rival some of the above. If you see DIII as settling, you may not know the reality of college softball.

So my family and I pulled into a hotel parking lot last night around 10pm. We heard a softball being hit. My wife pointed out there’s a bownet. Yep a player out there getting swings in for games the next day. Yes, I wanted to see who she was. Will be a mystery, but nice to see!

Not everyone completely understands or values what high level DIII athletics is all about. Those that live it are glad they chose it. Those that lived it are glad they had additional time for the academic side and other important opportunities.

If you think that high level DIII softball is a step down to play collegiately then you are mistaken. Those that understand are rewarded!

When you are that 5.1% do not take it for granted and especially do not take that 2% at the DIII level for granted! If you are getting that opportunity or an offer you should feel great about that because in reality they are just not handed out. It is an accomplishment in itself.

I know the increased dead period for DI will be a challenge moving forward. I also know that some of you that choose an outstanding DIII spot will be greatly rewarded!

There is something special about this group of young ladies! They are definitely a TEAM and they teamed up to do this for me yesterday! Thank you!

Wow! Going into year 20 as the head coach of a tremendous program! The 2023 season will mark the 25th year as a coach for CNU softball. It has been built with tremendous players that love the game! I can’t wait to get started again! Time sure does fly by when you are having fun!

THE coaching staff!!! They are so dedicated to this team and were as driven as anyone to bring home a National Championship! A big thank you goes to Mary Kennedy, Savannah Couch-Murdock (both CNU Softball alumni) and the one and only Wayne Vick!

Continued thoughts and prayers for two longtime coaching friends and some special young ladies at JMU. You have a lot of people there for you whenever it is needed. Hoping for strength and guidance as you all come together back on the field for Lauren. @JMUSoftball

Incase anyone was wondering there is not a mound on a fastpitch softball field and the pitchers in fastpitch softball do not throw off of a mound since there is not a mound on a fastpitch softball field.
