USA Basketball needs to step in and get control of summer youth basketball asap. I’m going to leave it at that. Every HS player does not deserve the right to play in front of college coaches. The landscape is too watered down.

Is anybody teaching Jab Steps and pivots anymore? What about how to attack closeouts or all we teaching kids is combo dribble moves against cones?

I meant what I said about not every kid deserving the privilege of playing in front of college coaches. It’s crazy in America we think we just deserve stuff that we put little to no work in achieving. If you are a coach make sure you are teaching your players the right things.

The physicality at the Division 1 level right now is crazy. If you are not in the weight room 3-4 days a week and doing speed/agility training forget about it.

Everyone’s basketball journey is different. We have to stop with this entitlement that because someone else gets something, that we deserve it because we know them. We don’t know what the next player or coach had to sacrifice to get to where they are.

As a coach, especially at the High School and AAU level one of the most important lessons you must learn is that you CAN NOT save every kid. It’s a true but sad reality we all have to learn to accept. Doesn’t mean you don’t try but some will never quite get it til it’s too late.

While all these kids are worried about playing D1 so they can take pictures to post on Instagram. NAIA & D2 programs are beating D1 schools. Also let’s keep it 💯 there are JUCO programs who can beat some D1’s as well.
MBB | That’s a Warrior win! LC defeats NCAA DI Idaho 88-73! This is the 2nd year in a row the Warriors have defeated the Vandals! Bradley finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds!

All this stuff is a money grab man. It’s nonsense. Most of the basketball is junk. It doesn’t translate to college. Parents spending $1000’s of dollars a summer.

Only about 3.5% of HS Basketball Players will get to play college basketball. You are trying to earn a reward that the majority will not receive. 🏀 So you have to do the things that the other 96.5% are not willing to do on a daily to be in the 3.5%. 💡
