Had several questions on what I’m looking at when I’m identifying coverages. Here’s a thread on it. These are generic keys to determine what’s being played.

This is hilarious... Have the DE chase the dive to force the QB keep but gap exchange it with the DT instead of the LB.

Here's a thread on man match cover 2... Saban Clip/Cut. Split safety coverage. Clip is the call strong. Cut is the call weak. Essentially it's 2 man but defenders will switch WRs vs out routes. Playbook pages are from the 2008 Alabama playbook Cut ups are Week 11 Saints vs Bucs

Recently had some guys ask me about zone match vs man match coverages. Here is a thread with a description of each...

The LSU install on YouTube is one of the best places to start learning the Saban system. Explains about anything you’d want to know and has video to go with it. Hard to beat that! Here’s a link: youtu.be/1Kd_IzYYa0U

Had this discussion with a coach the other day. Defensive philosophy on why you teach kids to do what they do within your system. First I have to explain the difference between playing “Fast” vs “Slow” Big misnomer in defensive football world IMO

Slinging the Fits = A term for LBs and sometimes DBs vs RPO. Used in mofo coverage bc you can’t max fit or be gapped out presnap. Rules = If the QB looks at me, I play pass. If the QB looks away, I play run. Philosophically you're trying to fit mofo coverage like mofc coverage.
