Not sure how 19,000 can pack the Garden but many local schools still not letting in fans. Sure follow the money - but how about follow the common sense. Kids don’t get a redo - show some sense of urgency school admin and get it done….
D1 AAU Basketball is VERY competitive. If your not willing to cut hard / screen hard/ defend hard / sprint / sacrifice your body on each possession then It’s not for you. Being elite is much more than being able to make a shot or a nice move everyone now and then.
Been coaching since 1997 and have never seen a coach run onto the court mid play…. No tech / no warning just a play on - unless your the guy calling for the tech - ya I got a tech for asking / yelling for a tech. Crazy.
Nothing really surprises me anymore with AAU - some players leave for higher level teams which I can comprehend, what I don’t get is all the lateral movement. Life lesson - you don’t leave a job for a lateral position year after year / you stay dig roots make a name for yourself
Got the little guy to his first AAU game yesterday. He sat on bench - learned how to say stop the ball / see your man / and TIMEOUT. First game of likely many. Good times…
Nice article on the Fam and I. Long days and short years have produced a lot to be proud of.. Big thanks to Newton Neighbors and bestversionmedia.com/magazines/Newt…
Lot of fun tonight watching my guy @RyanDonahue55 compete. Plays as hard as anyone I’ve coached. 12 points in his 2nd start as a freshman @KeeneStateOwls. Tough 3 point loss to ranked @UMassDMensHoop
In 1997 I was asked to run a camp for @NewtonParksRec I was a reluctant 20 year old kid - best & most important business decision I ever made. Fast forward nearly 25 years, over 55 camps & 40 teams, expansion to new sports. Truly humbled & fortunate to own @ASAhoops@ASASp0rts
