    Aye.. The Euro Super League will kill our game they say...Whilst the gates to a local pitch remains padlocked and the goals removed since first lockdown. On the eve of Scotland hosting #Euro2020 games. 2 miles away from Hampden we're fighting for use of a pitch !!! #grassroots

    We had a surprise visit today from Rangers captain, James Tavanier who happily spent time getting photos with kids who were at Barlia for Free Play today. He was impressed that we open the gates daily to provide free access for local kids to kick a ball 👍 #barliapitchesmatter

    A wee note in memory of Tony McBride whos funeral took place this morning... Arguably Castlemilk's most talented player, who was a member of Celtic's famous Quality Street gang who followed on from the Lisbon Lions. Ex @StRochsJuniors aswell. RIP Tony

    GOOD NEWS Friday 7 October we're receiving the keys to the pavilion. Teams will be able to shower after games meaning our local clubs can finally return to having Barlia as their home park. We'll be developing the pavilion into a real community hub for all #barliapitchesmatter

    We are delighted to announce that we have secured funding of £234,654 from @ScottishFA towards replacing the existing playing surfaces for the full pitch and 3 x five a sides at Barlia. We will also be renewing the floodlights to LED and creating a spectator barrier.

    A massive thanks to our volunteers today (and some yesterday) who gave up their Sunday to help get the facility ready for opening... We have been left with a complete mess and no where near the standard of the 'flagships' of Glasgow Life.. Or even close to it.

    Today marks 6 months since we reopened Barlia to the community, a run down, neglected facility, deemed unviable, not enough customers, closed for nearly 2 years with no date to reopen by Glasgow Life / City Council. Our stats speak for themselves. CCF #barliapitchesmatter

    @BoysCastlemilk & @LittleDynamos organised themselves to highlight our closed facility at Barlia before making their way to Toryglen 2 miles away to train whilst our local pitch remains closed. Parents (with cars) parked elsewhere to show no impact at Test Centre. #grassroots

    Castlemilk Community Football in conjunction with @YouthComplexCYC will be reopening Barlia next week. Monday 31st January 2022. Initial opening times will be 5 -9pm Monday to Friday. And weekends 10am - 4pm (3 lets) as fixtures are set. We hope to start daytime use ASAP.
