Today, the City deployed a herd of goats to clear brush along the Merrimack River Path next to the VFW Highway. The goats provide a sustainable method of removing vegetation in hard-to-reach areas.

- Today, the new pedestrian footbridge spanning the Concord River was swung into place. The bridge is part of the .5 mile extension of the Riverwalk which is slated to open next spring.

- The Pawtucket Street Bridge over the Northern Canal is now reopened for vehicular and pedestrian travel. The bridge has been closed since 2018 for full reconstruction as part of the TIGER bridge project.
- Construction on the Pawtucket Street Bridge over the Pawtucket Canal has reached completion, and the bridge will reopen to two-way traffic beginning tomorrow afternoon. A full reconstruction of the bridge was initiated in 2019.
- The City of Lowell has installed two dedicated ballot drop boxes on the grounds of City Hall that voters can use to hand-deliver their vote-by-mail ballot for the upcoming election. The drop boxes are located outside of the Merrimack St. and JFK Plaza entrances of City Hall.
- A historic day in the City of Lowell as the 2022-2023 City Council took the oath of office and @SokharyChau was elected Mayor by his colleagues. The newly elected Council marks the first to serve under Lowell's new representative election system.
