    Every year Colorado School of Mines welcomes new freshman with the signature experience that began back in 1908, of carrying a 10-pound rock up Mount Zion. Today you can watch as they leave campus and climb up the trail to the “M”.

    Golden has set up a media staging area at Golden City Hall (911 10th St) for coverage of the officer-involved accident at Hwy 58 and Washington Ave. Media parking is available at the Golden History Museum (923 10th St). Updates will be provided, with a press conference to follow.

    FIREWORKS DISPLAY POSTPONED Due to predictions of severe weather, the City of Golden has made the decision to reschedule the fireworks for later this summer. Our utmost priority is the safety of our community and those who come to enjoy the creek and the Lions Club Festival.

    Flood warning! Use extreme caution during substantial rainfall like Golden is experiencing this afternoon. Never drive or walk through flooded streets. Turn around and wait for flooding to subside. Stay safe by turning around and waiting out the flood waters.
