- On Saturday, thousands of Prince fans came together in Downtown Minneapolis to sing along to the Purple One’s greatest hits. We were proud to partner with the Prince estate and @PaisleyPark to present the Prince Sing-Along during the Prince Celebration Block Party.

We’re actively monitoring the situation at W. 28th Street and Nicollet Avenue and coordinating closely with our safety teams. Minneapolis Police are supporting our county partners on scene. Thank you to all of our public safety partners for their response. - Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is leading operations with MPD assisting. Please avoid the area of West 28th Street and Nicollet Avenue in South Minneapolis as the situation is still ongoing.***UPDATE 1:29 p.m.*** The suspect, an adult white male, is not yet in custody; several agencies and multiple resources, including crisis negotiations, are on scene. The apartment building has been evacuated, but the suspect remains barricaded inside.

Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office deputies were fired upon while attempting to serve an arrest warrant in the area of West 28th Street and Nicollet Avenue in South Minneapolis.
