I’m sorry, but we should all be terrified of mentally ill 20-something white male incels. They are a menace to society. This is why I feel like prostitution should be legal. If these dudes were getting laid, we’d have a lot less problems imho
my stance on MAID is that if killing yourself becomes a norm and not a tragedy, for people who are perceived to be a burden, it will become an obligation and there is no number of checks and balances that will prevent that
when I used to mentor autistic teenagers, they would say "people don't like me because I'm smart" and when I asked them "Do you think that telling people that you think you should be allowed to eat your pets once they die had anything to do with it?" they'd say "of course not"
this is like saying "Autistic people often fail to pick up on an essential part of social communication, and yet we're the ones with communication difficulties?"
She is actually completely right here. He didn't say "This is the average argument with a woman" he said "This is ALL arguments with women", and so providing an example of a woman who doesn't argue when you present averages (meaning ALL is not true) is a valid counterpoint.
The funniest thing about the no autism in the Amish community thing is that I've interviewed a few autistics who are former amish and hutterite who have told me that they didn't think they were autistic, because they just thought being autistic was just a normal type of guy.
After speaking with normal people about autism for the last 6-7 years, I have become fully convinced we need to give ASD 1, 2, and 3 separate and distinctive names because most people simply cannot handle the idea of a range of disabilities having a single name.
It is always a fun conversation when I have to explain to young autistic men that if they have this problem it is mostly just a skill issue and whining about it is actually one the biggest signs of it being a skill issue.
most gifted kid programs turned out to really just be special ed for smart kids and once you understand this your life as a former gifted kid will make a lot more sense, in the 00's they were basically just a containment zone for undiagnosed asperger's and ADHD
