- At the age of 60, I did my first ever session lifting weights today (with a PT). And I was pleasantly surprised to discover it's every bit as tedious and fucking joyless as I'd always suspected. So that's nice.

00:00 - Just bought a wheelchair for my dad off ebay & the lady selling it then asked if I'd like some other stuff (bath seats etc) thrown in & then told me I was doing a good job 4 my dad. It made me blub a bit & reminded me, that despite the news, most people are unbelievably brilliant

- Just sprinkled my lovely mum in the Thames by the National & then put a pinch of her under a seat in the stalls of the Olivier. She took me there in 76 when it opened, firing my own lifelong love of the arts. I like to think of her now being part of a place she adored.
- Just learned Starmer once went to a friend's house in the evening, where he AND his wife knowingly ate free food served up to them by friends! Starters, mains, apparently they even scoffed a pudding & guzzled free wine without declaring ANY OF IT!! He surely has to go!!
- 11 years ago today, I lost my wife, and our boys their mum, to suicide. Have read lots of thoughts over the last 24 hours, about the need to talk, which is so true, but for me, listening is the thing. Family, friends, professionals. Listen listen listen #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

- Waited till everyone had left the very steamy steam room, then lay down on the wet marble and spent an enjoyable 10 minutes using the water suction in the small of my back to make endless slurpy farty noises. And then a man rose from the steamy far corner and walked out. I'm 60.
