    Our expectation was that each Red Stars player would actively and without reservation support their Black teammates & supporters and choose to kneel during the anthem. We do not see the choice to stand as acceptable. We hope players who chose to stand will re-examine that choice.

    If Chicago is getting a clean slate it needs to start from the top.
    It is clear to us now that the Chicago Red Stars, as an organization, cannot move forward and make changes with Arnim Whisler as the controlling owner. We also now know that Arnim was aware of the pattern of abuse inflicted by Rory Dames. Arnim's refusal to put his name on any Club statements, or to otherwise speak out himself, demonstrates his inability to be accountable and to lead the Club. The Red Stars need leaders who will take responsibility and be held accountable. Arnim has failed in this regard. It is clear that the wellbeing of players was not a priority for Arnim or the Chicago Red Stars organization in the past, and we do not trust Arnim to keep the players safe moving forward. Local 134 makes the following demand. We demand that Arnim Whisler present a concrete plan for selling his shares by December 31, 2021. Until Arnim's shares are sold, we will not complete payment for our season tickets or buy merchandise from the team. We are demanding change.

    After the draft we discovered some now-deleted social media posts from one of Chicago’s 2021 draftees, Channing Foster. These posts were unequivocally racist and hateful and we had hoped that she or the Red Stars would address them without our urging. #mkot (1/5)
