I’m excited to announce that I have been selected as a 2022 HHMI Hanna Gray Fellow! Thank you @HHMINEWS for this opportunity! This could not have been possible without my friends and mentors over the years @Herschlab @RouskinLab @steveczimmerman 🍾

My first paper from the @Herschlab is finally out! Such a fun collaborative effort and a chance to get my feet wet deriving predictive models from high-throughput data for RNA-protein interactions. nature.com/articles/s4146…

The HGF Orientation and Science Meeting has been nothing short of amazing!! This fellowship has already proven to be so much more than just the money. It is a community of excellence, inspiration from the generation prior, and promise for the next. @HHMINEWS #hanngrayfellows

I got my PhD grad in Organic Chem developing small molecule drugs that bind to nucleic acids, but I’m currently diving into RNA Biochemistry studying how RNA folds in cells. I recently defended my thesis on zoom which was surprisingly a lot of fun. #BlackinChem #BlackinOrganic

When I’m not in the lab, I like to get outside in sunny California and spend time with my friends drinking lots of wine, taking photos of nature, and pretending to like running but mostly just stopping to take pictures while running. #BlackInChem #BlackinChemRollCall

I’m very excited to be coming back to @ChemistryUIUC soon in honor of St. Elmo Brady. Thank you to the organizers for what I’m sure will be a great symposium!
@ChemistryUIUC will be hosting the St. Elmo Brady Postdoctoral Inclusive Excellence Symposium on Jun 8-9 featuring @Cheers2LO @AnaCristinaGAlz @Mel_1090 and Jeanne N'Diaye. Shout out to @ChanLabUIUC member @ForzanoJoe for being integral to organizing this event. Proud of you Joe!
