I find it hilarious that one pattern cuttlefish like to do is a big white square on their mantle.
They are great at doing patterns to blend in with their enviroment but sometimes they just think "time for β "

In 2020, scientists velcro'd 3D glasses to European common cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis) and set up a 3D theatre to study how they percieve depth perception.
I know this is very cool research but I can't get over how goofy they look like this.

These are actually the egg masses of the Diamondback squid (Thysanoteuthis rhombus) These masses have a length of 0.6 to 1.8 m with a diametre of 11 to 30 cm andcontain between 35,000 to 75,000 eggs. That's a lot of squid!
This is not a vampire squid at all, but a cirrothauma magna, which is a species of cirrate octopus. Vampire squids, although related to octopuses, are not octopuses.
