The Genetic Detective @ABC, Finding Your Roots @PBS, Founder of DNA Detectives. Media Consultant:True Crime, Genetic Genealogy & Biological Family Reunification
I am extremely honored (and a little embarrassed) to be the subject of a profile written by the incredibly thorough and thoughtful @raffiwriter published today by @NewYorker. #DNA#Genealogy#truecrime
"You need to be worried, you need to be looking over your shoulder, because we're coming for you." - Lt. John Somerindyke. We sure are! #GeneticDetective
Today is a great day! There were convictions in two of the murder/rape cases where I was able to narrow the possible crime scene #DNA contributor to only one man thru the power of #geneticgenealogy. Thank you to the prosecution on Sophie Sergie's & Linda Slaten's cases. #Parabon
The six-episode #ABCNews docu-series the #GeneticDetective is re-airing on @DiscoveryID on Saturdays 9pm/8pm for the next six weeks, starting now for the West Coast (sorry ET, I didn't know!).
I am honored to be in Atlanta presenting at the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Judicial Conference today. It is a fantastic opportunity to educate 100+ District Court Judges and over 500 attorneys on the power of #InvestigativeGeneticGenealogy.
I can finally share that I worked on this case back in Oct 2018 with Det. McCloughen, and that the suspect IDed through #investigativegeneticgenealogy has been convicted by a jury of the murder of Prof. James Miller and the attempted murder of his wife.
The new episode of #TheGeneticDetective tonight on #ABC 10/9pm features two incredible people, survivor @KobiD22, who has done women everywhere a service by bravely coming forward to discuss her assault, and the very dedicated and caring Lt. John Somerindyke (ret).
Today brought the 3rd conviction in 2 days in my GG cases. The despicable "Ramsey Street Rapist" pled guilty to all charges and was sentenced to a minimum of ~22 years. (If you watched my series, The Genetic Detective, you will be familiar with this case.)
The very first case I worked featured on the #GeneticDetective tonight was still the most straightforward genetic genealogy in a criminal case I have worked out of 350+ cases over two years. Don't expect them all to be like that! I took it as a sign to keep going! @ABC
Another jury conviction & life sentence thanks to investigative #geneticgenealogy and SNP #DNA testing. "The [1976 double homicide] case went cold for decades, but investigators worked with DNA technology company Parabon NanoLabs..." news.yahoo.com/wisconsin-man-…#justice#Parabon
