- This is worse than 2016. Fully informed, the majority of Americans chose fascism.
- I cited a paper in my book. The author emailed demanding I was legally obligated to share with them the text. I sent a screenshot of the one place they were cited. They wanted more context. If you're so curious, BUY THE BOOK stop wasting my time.
- I have a stalker. Recently, she contacted my employer in effort to get me fired. She is racist, and has begun contacting ASIAN ACADEMICS connected w/ me on this platform. So, if that is you, there’s a chance she will send a similar letter to your employer. If this happens...
- Every semester I develop new ice breaker questions that try to avoid revealing class background (this is the issue with ‘what did you do over the summer?’ ‘what are your hobbies?’). Here are some from this/previous semesters (many are food related): (1/4)
- In a meeting. Here, parental leave is only full pay if you continue service obligations. So a colleague is zooming in from the NICU. This is unreasonable.
- Replying to @Catherineoscopyplease contact me immediately and I will put you in touch with my investigator. This has been going on for almost a year. I have NEVER met this harasser. I have NEVER engaged with this harasser. This is my first time publicly acknowledging this person. Please retweet.
- We are all doing the same job. We teach the same number of classes. I don't think my labor is worth $20,000 LESS than that of my econ colleagues. More money please.
- It really pisses me off when grad programs & fellowships want diversity statements from my students, asking how their minoritized status will “contribute” to the program. UH, better question, what are you going to do for my students?
- My parents’ friends came over with their kid who I was friends with in the 90s. My mom told us to go play in the next room. We’re almost 40.
- An AR-15 is cheaper than an EpiPen.
- We are approaching that time in the semester when therapy dogs are deployed to colleges/universities across the country to solve major problems well beyond their expertise.
- My darling students, if you want an extension that is perfectly fine, but please don’t tell me about the other classes and assignments you are prioritizing. I don’t need to know. It just makes me sad.
- Every toddler I have met has a masters in either zoology or paleontology.
