Congrats to Muskegon’s Shane Fairfield for being selected NFC recipient of the 2023 NFL Don Shula High School Coach of the Year Award! He’ll receive a $15,000 grant for his program and $10,000 cash prize. He’s headed to the Pro Bowl in Orlando and Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

Whitehall lost a 77-69 district overtime heartbreaker at Fruitport. It was a highly emotional night on the Fruitport side as well. Trojans coach Steve Erny reflects on what it meant to have his dad courtside despite the fact the beloved Ken Erny is battling ALS.

Reeths-Puffer AD Cliff Sandee announces that Rockets legend J.R. Wallace has been hired as new boys varsity basketball coach at the school. The 1999 R-P alumnus spent the last 10 seasons as an assistant coach at GVSU. Wallace will also be dean of students and assistant AD at R-P.
